Welcome to Kovalytics. This is where I’ll write about building small software products as a one-person studio in Alberta: what worked, what didn’t, and the code in between.

How this site is built

The site is deliberately boring. There’s no server, no database and no login. It’s a handful of static pages built by Astro, and every post is a Markdown file in a Git repo. Pushing to main publishes it.

A new post is just a file with a little frontmatter:

Code blocks are highlighted at build time, so the browser doesn’t need any JavaScript for it:
